If you pay any attention to Joe Thomas' Twitter you will find out about more than just his podcast and his work on NFL Network.The former Cleveland Browns offensive lineman will reveal the foods he's been eating that assisted him get rid of above fifty pounds. A lot of pictures of protein and vegetables.

He Tweeted : A pair of simple steps. Quit eating breakfast and quit eating carbs.

But there is a little more to it than that. He couples the Ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. Keto is a low carb, high fat diet which has assisted many shed a lot of excess weight. It changes the body's metabolism to using fat for fuel in place of relying on carbs.

Joe indicates he only eats between noon and 6 pm.

The diet assisted him lose 25 pounds the first month, but admits it was work to maintain losing weight. He also sticks to 1,500 to 2,000 calories per day of foods that are slow digesting, just like meat and veggies for fiber to maintain him full.

But that's not all. He swims 30 to 45 laps twice per week for cardio, a good workout for joints that were beaten senseless for 11 years with the Browns. He is also into yoga and keeps up a weight lifting program.

He admits to cheating on the diet when he goes out with family or friends, but gets a workout in beforehand to counter the extra carbs.
